The first thing that the Rosalack Auslese teaches you is that it is far more fascinating to be enticed to explore fragrant diversity than having a bucket of fruit chucked at your nose. As you keep inhaling, subtle aromas of honey and cinnamon join the fruity fray. Richer and more luscious than the Spätlese, the ripe fruit includes peach, apricot and nectarine, still able to express their aromatic character rather than being overwhelmed by sweet opulence. Spice is finely poised and keeps you wondering whether it is cinnamon or ginger, but leaves you in no doubt that it adds complexity to generosity. Drink 202-2035.
