At 35 years of age, the 1978 Solaia is still in great shape. Deep, rich and muscular, with great intensity for a wine of its age, the 1978 is an absolutely joy to taste. Over the years, the 1978 has acquired distinctly Sangiovese-inflected overtones, which is fascinating to contemplate. -- Antonio Galloni
