Tasting Notes and Scores

89 RMPJ

This is a sexy, soft, round wine with notes of sweet red and black fruits intermixed with hints of truffle, tobacco leaf, and spice. Medium to full-bodied with sweet fruit and a savory mouthfeel in an up-front, forward style, this wine needs 2-3 years of cellaring and should drink up to 15 years or more.

Dark red. Blackberry aroma with a slightly weedy element. Minerally and firm but on the dry side initially; with aeration this showed a silkier texture and emerging red fruit flavors. Hard to judge today.

Tasted at JP Moueix. A very ripe nose that is lacking a little definition for me, with "gobs" of raspberry and ripe strawberry and layers of vanillary oak. The palate is very ripe and rounded on the entry with firm tannins that cannot disguise a rather hollow mid-palate and a very lean finish. Average. Tasted April 2007.
