Tasting Notes and Scores
There will not be a 2007 Cote Rotie La Landonne as the vineyard was destroyed by hail, but the 2006 Cote Rotie La Landonne is a wine of great intensity. Its dark plum/purple color is followed by scents of scorched earth, underbrush, forest floor, blackberries, black cherries, and camphor. With fabulous intensity, full body, good acidity, and beautifully integrated tannin and wood, this is a stunning wine to drink over the next 20-25 years.
Wine Advocate
Ruby-red. Deep cassis and kirsch aromas are complicated by smoked meat, dark chocolate, roasted coffee and violet. A bright note of black pepper emerges with air and carries onto the palate, adding vivacity to the deep dark fruit and bitter chocolate flavors. Finishes strong, with bright mineral tang and a hint of blood orange.
